안녕하세요! 대한민국 분당에 위치한 유기동물 구조 및 재활 시설에 오신 것을 환영합니다.  저희에게 특별한 의미를 가진 이 시절과 KK9R의 이야기를 여러분과 공유하게 되어 기쁩니다.

KK9R의 여정은 코로나로 전 세계가 뒤바뀌기 직전인 2020년 3월에 시작되었습니다. 험난한 시작이었지만, 저희는 개들을 위해 어려움을 극복하는 단체로 모두가 열심히 임했습니다!  저희는 수많은 환경에서 구조된 개들을 돌보고 있습니다. 주인에게 버림 받은 개, 번식업자에게서 구조된 개, 보호소에서 안락사 위기에 처한 개, 또 도살장에서 구조한 개들을 포함하여 여러 아이들을 보호하고 있습니다. 대한민국 수 많은 구조 활동과 여러 자원봉사자, 활동가 및 동물 복지 단체들의 수고와 노력 덕분에 이 아이들을 저희 시설에서 돌볼 수 있습니다.

버려지거나 학대당한 유기견들의 상황은 어렵습니다. 수백만 유기견들이 존재하는 가운데 한국의 입양률은 20% 미만입니다. 어려운 상황이지만 극복해갑니다! 다행히 미국의 입양률은 100%입니다. KK9R팀은 한국의 수많은 비영리 단체들과 함께 하루하루 좋은 변화들을 이루기 위해 노력합니다. 시설 설립 후 2,500 마리가 넘는 개들을 구조 및 재활하며 아이들의 삶을 변화시켰습니다. 좋은 수의사 관리, 영양가 있는 음식, 그리고 많은 사랑과 훈련을 통하여 아이들의 미국 입양을 준비합니다.

한국의 KK9R팀은 큰 가족입니다. 시설에서 생활하는 10명의 개훈련사들과 매주 시설을 방문하는 30명이 넘는 자원봉사자들은 우리 센터의 핵심이며, 소중한 아이들이 다시 사람을 믿고 사랑하고 과거의 트라우마를 잊을 수 있도록 도와주는 중요한 역할을 합니다. KK9R의 분당시설은 20,000 평방 피트의 아늑한 공간이며 강아지들의 천국입니다. 강아지들의 위한 온도 조절 되는 메인 홀, 편안한 수면실, 그리고 의료치료 및 격리를 위한 공간을 갖추고 있으며 항상 깨끗하고 안전하게 관리되고 있습니다.

개들을 위한 야외시설에는 그들이 뛰어놀고, 친구들과 어울리고, 목줄을 착용하고 걷는 법을 배우고, 즐거움을 되찾을 수 있는 울타리가 쳐진 6개의 공간이 있습니다. 평균 150마리 이상의 개들을 돌보고 있으며, 각각 새로운 시작과 삶의 두번째 기회를 간절히 기다리는 개들과 함께 합니다.

이 곳에 도착한 개들은 새로운 새벽을 맞이하는 것과 같습니다. 희망, 사랑, 그리고 마침내 안전함을 느낄 때 흔드는 수 많은 아이들의 꼬리들 – 그것이 우리의 목적입니다! 경기도에 계시는 분들 중에 저희 시설 봉사에 동참하시고 싶다면, “렛츠 우다다”의 자원봉사 코디네이터에게 연락하여 참여하실 수 있습니다!

우리가 함께 하는 이 일은 개들을 돕는 것만이 아니라 세상의 큰 변화를 이루고 있습니다. 모든 개들에게 그들이 마땅히 받아야할 두 번째 기회를 주기 위해 열심히 활동하겠습니다!

Welcome to Our Bundang Facility!

Hey there! Welcome to our rescue and rehabilitation facility in Bundang-gu, South Korea. This place is special to us, and we’re thrilled to share our story with you.

Our journey began in March 2020, right before the world was turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a bumpy start, but we’re all about overcoming challenges for dogs! We’ve been welcoming dogs from all walks of life—stray, abandoned, puppy mill shutdowns, high-kill shelters, and survivors of the dog meat trade. These dogs come to us thanks to the incredible efforts of our rescue missions, volunteers, activists, and animal welfare groups across South Korea.

The situation here is challenging for homeless, abused, and neglected dogs. There are millions of homeless dogs and an adoption rate below 20%. But that doesn’t dampen our spirit because the adoption rate in the US is 100%! Our team, alongside many NGOs in Korea, is committed every single day to making a change. Since opening, we’ve welcomed and transformed the lives of over 2,500 dogs. We provide top-notch vet care, nutritious food, and much love and training to prepare them for their forever homes in the US.

Our team is like a big family—10 trainers who live at our facility and over 30 volunteers who visit weekly to lend a hand. They’re the heart and soul of our center, helping these precious pups trust and love again and forget about their past trauma. Our facility, a cozy 20,000-square-foot space nestled in the mountains of Bundang-gu, is a doggy paradise. It’s got everything—a climate-controlled main hall, comfy sleeping rooms, medical and quarantine areas. And it’s always sparkling clean and safe.

Outside, we have six fenced-in play areas where the dogs can romp around, socialize with their friends, learn to walk on leashes, and just be dogs who enjoy life again. We care for 150+ dogs at any given time, each eagerly waiting for a new start and second chance.

When a dog arrives here, it’s like a new dawn. Hope, love, and many tail wags when they finally realize they are safe – that’s what we’re about!
