With help from our team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save the lives of over 3,500 dogs. Because the adoption rate is less than 20% in South Korea, dogs are transported to the US, where we know our dogs can find loving, caring forever homes. Read more about our mission here.
The majority of our adoptable dogs are located on the East Coast, with options in the West Coast. We do accept adoptions outside of NYC on a case-by-case basis. For additional information, please visit our adoption FAQ page.
We are a foster-based organization, meaning dogs stay in loving homes, ensuring our new arrivals receive the care and attention they need before finding their forever home.
We also highly encourage you to read about our adoption procedures and FAQs before applying to adopt.

Meet Ping Pong! This pint-size 1-year-old, 14 lb male dachshund is quite the personality and spunks you would never guess. In October, he was rescued from a horrific, illegal puppy mill in Busan, South Korea; Ping Pong is one of almost 600 dogs saved through the efforts of Korean K9 Rescue and our incredible partners. Now thriving in foster care, Ping Pong is looking for his forever family. Watch his rescue here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pH4y4l8j2RE Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Ping Pong has unique rewards and responsibilities. He has shown incredible resilience and a bright spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often require patience and time to decompress and adjust to a loving home. While Ping Pong is currently healthy and has received excellent veterinary care, potential adopters should be aware of the genetic predispositions common in dogs from such environments, back disease (IVDD) common with the dachshund breed, including luxating patellas, heart conditions, dental issues, etc., that could arise later in life, and prepare both financially and mentally to help Ping Pong live an everyday happy life. Metel
Details:
About:
Earlier this year, she was callously abandoned by her owner in Korea. When she joined our rescue center, she was overweight and feeling sad, and now our team has nursed her back to health and happiness! Metel has early hip dysplasia, which our vet checked out. She will need an adopter to carefully monitor her progress and ensure she doesn't take too many staircases or jump on and off high places.
On September 5th, 2024, Metel was one of 38 dogs who participated in the Guinness World Record challenge for the largest pack walk by a single person—and they successfully broke the record. Metel is truly a superstar! Check out the video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/C_iOpiCytFb/?img_index=1

Chamyeo
Details:
About:
Chamyeo has unique quirks, like his adorable question-mark-shaped tail and his preference for cozy resting spots under desks or legs. Though he’s still learning to trust, Chamyeo’s sweet personality shines through. He might dart away at sudden movements, but he’ll always return for more neck scratches, especially under the chin!
Chamyeo has a playful side, too! He loves to pick up toys and enjoys tug play. Instead of his fluffy dog bed, he prefers sprawling on his foster family’s rubber standing mat. With each day, Chamyeo grows more comfortable and curious, and he’s sure to bring so much love and joy to his forever family.

Meet Henny! This loving, playful 4-year-old mini Jindo mix is bursting with personality. At just 20lbs, she's incredibly smart and goofy, walking well on a leash and fully crate trained. Henny loves her food and is very food-motivated. While she's great with other pets, she would prefer being the only pet in an adult-only home. Henny has some stranger danger she's working on with her trainers and needs a patient adopter willing to guide her and help her succeed around new people. Henny is being fostered by dog trainers @rescuetrainrepeat and is thriving! Henny's adoption fee is $300, and she's available for private meetings in Bushwick.
