With help from our team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save the lives of over 3,500 dogs. Because the adoption rate is less than 20% in South Korea, dogs are transported to the US, where we know our dogs can find loving, caring forever homes. Read more about our mission here.
The majority of our adoptable dogs are located on the East Coast, with options in the West Coast. We do accept adoptions outside of NYC on a case-by-case basis. For additional information, please visit our adoption FAQ page.
We are a foster-based organization, meaning dogs stay in loving homes, ensuring our new arrivals receive the care and attention they need before finding their forever home.
We also highly encourage you to read about our adoption procedures and FAQs before applying to adopt.

Meet Henny! This loving, playful 4-year-old mini Jindo mix is bursting with personality. At just 20lbs, she's incredibly smart and goofy, walking well on a leash and fully crate trained. Henny loves her food and is very food-motivated. While she's great with other pets, she would prefer being the only pet in an adult-only home. Henny has some stranger danger she's working on with her trainers and needs a patient adopter willing to guide her and help her succeed around new people. Henny is being fostered by dog trainers @rescuetrainrepeat and is thriving! Henny's adoption fee is $300, and she's available for private meetings in Bushwick. Apply to meet her today at koreank9rescue.org/adopt

Jupiter is our 1-year-old Spitz mix with a big personality packed into her 15 lbs frame! Jupiter’s journey began in a heartbreaking high-kill shelter in Sejong City, Korea, before her rescue by the Korean K9 Rescue team. She has since made the voyage to NYC and is with her fosters, ready to meet her forever family. Sometimes, when she blinks, it’s like she’s giving you a cheeky little wink. Toys aren't her thing just yet, but she’s happiest outdoors, and no noise is too much for this brave girl. Jupiter would do best in an active household. She loves her walks and even gives a cute bounce off her back legs when she gets excited to head out the door. She’s friendly towards people and okay with other dogs, but prefers a home without cats or small children. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy who will fill your days with love and bring a little more excitement to your life, Jupiter might just be the one. Meet this energetic girl at one of our adoption events this weekend! Meet all our adoptable dogs this weekend! Meet Bagel! This friendly, gentle 1-year-old Jindo mix weighed in at 22 lbs and was rescued from the Siheung shelter earlier this year. Bagel’s a confident little guy with his tail almost always up! He’s well-adjusted to the world outside — noises don’t bother him, and he’s curious about everyone he meets. Inside, he’s pretty low-key, happiest lounging on his bed with a bully stick or exploring his surroundings. Meet all our adoptable dogs this weekend! Meet Titi, our resilient and adorable 5-year-old beagle/Jindo mix! This 20-lb cutie came from a tough start, rescued by our partners @we.a.c.t from a dark barn, living in a filthy pigsty where she endured neglect alongside other hoarded dogs. But Titi’s journey since has been one of resilience and growth. In September, she was one of 38 incredible pups to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pack walk led by a single person! This milestone is just the beginning for her. Since settling into her NYC foster home, Titi’s true personality shines. She’s got the best zoomies during mealtime, but otherwise loves a good nap (up to 10–12 hours on weekends!). She’s smart as can be—untangling her own leash like a pro and watching Dog TV (especially when ducks are on screen). She’s also a 10/10 on leash walking and is growing more comfortable with pets and cuddles from her foster family. Titi’s journey has been one from hardship to happiness and she’s ready for her forever home. Meet all our adoptable dogs this weekend! Meet Sicheun! This sweet 1-year-old, 20 lb Jindo mix has already come on leaps and bounds in confidence since being rescued from Gyeongsangdo Shelter. Here at Korean K9 Rescue, we’re on a mission to give pups like Sicheun a second chance, helping them grow, feel safe, and find a loving forever home in the U.S. Sicheun’s gentle personality has been shining since she settled in with her foster family. Indoors, she loves exploring every inch of the apartment, showing curiosity and growing confidence. Outside, she’s captivated by the world around her, pausing to sniff every patch of grass around street-lining trees. She isn’t too interested in toys yet, but she’s learning new things each day and getting braver with each step. Meet all our adoptable dogs this weekend! Metel
Details:
About:
Earlier this year, she was callously abandoned by her owner in Korea. When she joined our rescue center, she was overweight and feeling sad, and now our team has nursed her back to health and happiness! Metel has early hip dysplasia, which our vet checked out. She will need an adopter to carefully monitor her progress and ensure she doesn't take too many staircases or jump on and off high places.
On September 5th, 2024, Metel was one of 38 dogs who participated in the Guinness World Record challenge for the largest pack walk by a single person—and they successfully broke the record. Metel is truly a superstar! Check out the video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/C_iOpiCytFb/?img_index=1

Chamyeo
Details:
About:
Chamyeo has unique quirks, like his adorable question-mark-shaped tail and his preference for cozy resting spots under desks or legs. Though he’s still learning to trust, Chamyeo’s sweet personality shines through. He might dart away at sudden movements, but he’ll always return for more neck scratches, especially under the chin!
Chamyeo has a playful side, too! He loves to pick up toys and enjoys tug play. Instead of his fluffy dog bed, he prefers sprawling on his foster family’s rubber standing mat. With each day, Chamyeo grows more comfortable and curious, and he’s sure to bring so much love and joy to his forever family.

As part of our mission, we envision a world where all dogs live happy and free. At our Rescue Center in Bundang, South Korea, we ensure every dog is thoroughly assessed for health, nurtured to build trust, and carefully evaluated to understand its unique personality before matching it with its perfect forever home.

He’s growing more confident every day, and his favorite spot is by the window, which doubles as a chin rest with the perfect view.
