With the support of our dedicated team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save over 3,500 dogs from dire situations. In South Korea, where the adoption rate is less than 20%, many dogs face uncertain futures. That’s why we transport them to the U.S., where they have the chance to find loving, forever homes.
We are also proud to be a New Hope Partner with NYC Animal Care Centers (NYCACC), working to alleviate shelter congestion and expand our community’s impact. By collaborating with local shelters, we help ensure more dogs receive the second chance they deserve.
Most of our adoptable dogs are located on the East Coast, with some available on the West Coast. While we primarily adopt within NYC, we do consider adoptions outside the area on a case-by-case basis.
As a foster-based rescue, our dogs stay in loving homes before adoption, giving them the care, stability, and socialization they need to thrive.
🐾 Thinking about adopting? We highly recommend reviewing our Adoption Procedures and FAQs before applying to ensure a smooth and successful adoption process.

Meet Minhee, a tiny warrior with a huge spirit! Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Minhee has unique rewards and responsibilities. She has shown incredible resilience and a bright spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often require patience and time to decompress and adjust to a loving home. She is working on potty training and will need time and training to help her accomplish this. While Minhee is currently healthy and has received excellent veterinary care, potential adopters should be aware of the genetic predispositions common in dogs from such environments, including luxating patellas, heart conditions, dental issues, etc., that could arise later in life, and prepare both financially and mentally to help Irene live every day happy life. Join us for this weekend’s Korean K9 Rescue events! We have two exciting events coming up. On Saturday, meet our adoptable dogs in person at our Williamsburg adoption event. Taro
Details:
About:
He’s picture perfect and ready for his forever home! A big thank you to @thewaysofthedog for capturing these picture-perfect moments.
Found abandoned in Williamsburg, he was spotted trying to play with a KK9R alumni pup! We tracked down his owner, who surrendered him, allowing us to step in and give him a fresh start. His unique clipped ears are suspected to be from past abuse. Taro, who was narrowly diverted from becoming another ACC number, is now looking for his forever home!
Taro is estimated to be around 2 years old, 60 lbs of fluff and love. He gets along with other dogs, has a low adoption fee of just $300, and comes equipped with a fully sponosed training package. 🙌🏻 Come meet Taro and give him the loving home he deserves!

Mark
Details:
About:
Mark is a true charmer! This playful pup loves to dance on his hind legs when he spots a tasty treat and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like snuggling up close to his foster family. He’s a quick learner and has been adapting beautifully to his indoor life. Mark recently showed a burst of confidence, exploring the yard on his own and even making friends with the neighborhood kids! He’s still a work in progress with potty training, but he’s making great strides and is already showing incredible focus on his walks. With those big, beautiful eyes and his playful spirit, Mark is sure to steal your heart.
Minhee
Details:
About:
Minhee is our senior 10+ years old, 6.5lb Pomeranian from our Busan rescue, and we believe she’s the oldest dog we’ve pulled from the puppy mill. We can only imagine the years of abuse and countless litters she endured. Our mission is for all pups like Minhee to live happily and free - we’re determined to help her find her foreevr family.
Despite her past, Minhee is a ray of sunshine! She’s spunky, perky, and she's in great health. She has early-stage cataracts, which have been thoroughly checked by our vets and doesn’t require medication at this time, and are being monitored. She has no teeth, but she happily eats soft, fresh food. Her little tongue peeks out adorably!
Inside, Minhee is a whirlwind of activity, exploring her foster home with boundless energy. She’s incredibly food motivated and gets along wonderfully with her foster siblings, even if they’re a bit puzzled by her youthful zest. Her fosters rave about her warm, playful, and open personality – she’s truly a special little soul.
Outside, she’s gaining confidence each day and loving her sling walks, enjoying the fresh air and new sights.
Minhee won’t be attending public events, but if you’re ready to open your heart to this resilient senior, please submit an adoption application through our link in bio. We’ll contact you to arrange a private meet and greet. Give Minhee the happily ever after she so deserves!

While she’s still a bit startled by sudden noises and curious about the world around her, each day brings new strides in her journey to becoming a confident companion.

Miso is a handsome and intelligent 25-lb male. 6 yr old Jindo is mixed with a charming personality. Outdoors, he is active and full of energy; indoors, he enjoys lounging like a cat. Miso would be the perfect companion for a low-traffic household or a single owner without children or other pets. Although Miso is an easy-going dog, he has been part of our training program to address reactivity around other dogs. He has made remarkable progress, advancing to group pack walks and play sessions with our trainer. Miso is now ready to find his forever home! He will thrive in a stable, quiet environment, ideally with an adult-only household of one or two people. Miso would love a home that offers him outdoor adventures like park visits and hikes, which bring him the most joy. Once he bonds with his person, he is incredibly affectionate and loyal. The ideal home for Miso would be with someone committed to continuing his progress through follow-up training provided by our rescue. This will ensure his ongoing growth and success as an excellent companion. Miso is part of our foster-to-adopt VIP program! Learn more about the program https://www.koreank9rescue.org/foster-faq/#foster-to-adopt and meet Miso at one of our upcoming adoption events. I qualify for the Jindo Journey Training Stipend! About:
Though he currently has dog and cat roommates, he’d do best in an only pet home without tiny humans. Bailey wants to be your best friend and aims to please. He’s down for a run through the park, a stroll around the neighborhood, or a cuddle in your lap. He has a super fun play drive and absolutely adores food so training with Bailey is easy breezy.
Though he’s all about fun, Bailey is still learning the ropes with touch in certain areas. An ideal adopter will be dedicated to learning alongside him and giving him proper time to decompress in a new home.
