With the support of our dedicated team and partner organizations, Korean K9 Rescue has helped save over 3,500 dogs from dire situations. In South Korea, where the adoption rate is less than 20%, many dogs face uncertain futures. That’s why we transport them to the U.S., where they have the chance to find loving, forever homes.
We are also proud to be a New Hope Partner with NYC Animal Care Centers (NYCACC), working to alleviate shelter congestion and expand our community’s impact. By collaborating with local shelters, we help ensure more dogs receive the second chance they deserve.
Most of our adoptable dogs are located on the East Coast, with some available on the West Coast. While we primarily adopt within NYC, we do consider adoptions outside the area on a case-by-case basis.
As a foster-based rescue, our dogs stay in loving homes before adoption, giving them the care, stability, and socialization they need to thrive.
🐾 Thinking about adopting? We highly recommend reviewing our Adoption Procedures and FAQs before applying to ensure a smooth and successful adoption process. Meet our dogs at our upcoming events.

Meet Jjong! Inside Jjong is calm, shy, and a bit timid. She takes her time exploring, then settles either in her crate or just outside the bedroom door. She always eats and drinks while lying down, taking treats with the softest touch. She even picks treats from her snuffle mat one by one before returning to her spot to enjoy them. I qualify for the Jindo Journey Training Stipend! Starting March 1st, adopters of Jindo mixes (25+ lbs) will receive a $300 training stipend for two professional sessions, helping them adjust and thrive in their new home. Learn more here. Meet Peanut! Not only does he look like a lamb chop toy, but this little guy is just about 1.5 lamb chops long! Peanut is seven years young and just six whole pounds but he doesn’t let size stop him. Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Peanut comes with both unique rewards and responsibilities. He has shown incredible resilience and a gentle spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often need extra time to decompress and adjust to life in a loving home. Peanut is working on potty training and may need ongoing support and patience as he builds confidence and learns new routines. While he is currently healthy and has received thorough veterinary care, adopters should be aware that dogs from these environments may be predisposed to certain medical conditions, such as dental disease, luxating patellas, or heart concerns. With love, commitment, and preparation, Peanut has the potential to thrive and enjoy the life he always deserved. Come meet our adoptable dogs at this weekend’s Korean K9 Rescue events! Scooby is ready to run into your life! This little man is a whopping 10 pounds and estimated to be 4 years old. Our best guess with his breed is Italian Greyhound x Chihuahua but the only promise we can make is he's 100% adorable As part of our New Hope partnership with NYC ACC, the Queens team notified us as soon as this little guy was put on the at risk list. It didn't take long for him to come out of his shell - as soon as he got into the car leaving ACC he was all cuddles and tail wags. No one is quite sure where he came from, but someone found him wandering their neighborhood and scooped him right up. This NYC native pup comes with a full training package, sponsored by our wonderful Jindo Journey Training Stipend donors! Come meet our adoptable dogs at this weekend’s Korean K9 Rescue events! Jjong
Details:
About:
This 1 year old, 42-lb Jindo mix was rescued from Siheung City Center and is a sweet, gentle soul learning to navigate the world.
Outside Jjong walks nicely but is still a little scared of new surroundings. She watches the train go by, seeming a bit unsure, but her curiosity shines through. With patience and love, she’s sure to build confidence with each day in the city.
Plus, her adorable scruffy face and long fur give her the cutest little beard!
Could you be the one to show Jjong the world at her own pace?
Snow
Details:
About:
Imagine a soft nudge, a gentle gaze, and a heart waiting to open. That’s Snow. 💚
With the softest ears and a pink Rudolph nose, this pup is full of gentle charm. Snow’s journey is one of learning to trust, taking her time to explore the city sight, smells and sounds around her, and discovering the joy of human connection.
She’ll nudge your hand with her moist nose, a silent request for affection. Snow is more than just a dog; she’s a companion, a friend, a gentle soul waiting for a patient and loving home to call her own.

About:
Pujim
Details:
About:
Like her siblings Min-Kyu, Lion, Nana, and Argon (all happily adopted through KK9R), and her still-available brothers Hotteok and Jae-Yong, Pujim’s story began with hardship. Rescued with her mom, another mother dog, and their massive litter of 13 puppies from a devastating situation where they were confined to a 1-meter pole, Pujim’s journey to joy is a testament to resilience, thanks to the incredible work of @youumbba.
To ensure Pujim and her future family thrive, she’s part of our Jindo Journey program! This means she qualifies for a $300 stipend towards two professional training sessions, thanks to a generous private grant, making adoption even more accessible. We believe in setting dogs and adopters up for success, and this program reflects our commitment to a smooth transition and lasting happiness.💚
Since her arrival in NYC, Pujim has blossomed. She adores her crate, viewing it as her personal sanctuary. She’s a bundle of playful energy, but also loves to chill in her donut bed, close to her foster family. She’s a fan of backyard breaks and is wonderfully friendly with people.🐾
Come meet this adorable girl and witness her playful spirit firsthand!

Sunny

About:
This toasted marshmallow girlie is five years old and fully grown at around 40lbs. The perfect sized pup to take up the other side of your queen bed!
Though she can be a little shy and aloof at first, she’s warming up quickly in her foster home. Slowly but surely showing interest in good sniffs and passing dogs on walks, she’ll thrive with a little patience. ♥️
Toys are a mystery to be solved, and humans are quite interesting. Sunny happily follows her fosters around as they tend to chores, quietly and curiously observing as if she’ll update her diary later that night.
Could you be the most interesting human in Sunny’s life? Better get your application in before her next event!
Sunny will be skipping this weekend’s event on 4/19 for some #selfcare , but you can meet her next Saturday 4/26 at Petco Union Square!

Pobi
Details:
About:
Still young and curious, Pobi is an absolute ball of love. He loves scritches behind his ear, playing with any and every toy he can find, and following his foster humans around the house.
He’s learning as he goes and though he may seem brave and confident, he still needs a little encouragement as he faces the city streets. Are you a warrior of bustling NYC sidewalks? Maybe you can be Pobi’s knight in shining armor?
Come meet Pobi and all his adoptable friends this weekend!
Peanut
Details:
About:
He’s gaining confidence day by day but still makes sure to take time for a hard nap. This drowsy king despises cold windy days and would rather curl up with a good bully stick with you.
Peanut is still learning how to play; he’s got the play bow down, but the next moves are still unknown to him. He needs a little help figuring out the big wide world, but once he gets to know you the trust is incomparable.
Could you be the leader Peanut needs in life? He’s ready to meet you, but don’t fault him for being a little sleepy looking, that’s just his resting sleepy face!
Come meet Peanut and all his friends this weekend!

Miso is a handsome and intelligent 25-lb male. 6 yr old Jindo is mixed with a charming personality. Outdoors, he is active and full of energy; indoors, he enjoys lounging like a cat. Miso would be the perfect companion for a low-traffic household or a single owner without children or other pets. Although Miso is an easy-going dog, he has been part of our training program to address reactivity around other dogs. He has made remarkable progress, advancing to group pack walks and play sessions with our trainer. Miso is now ready to find his forever home! He will thrive in a stable, quiet environment, ideally with an adult-only household of one or two people. Miso would love a home that offers him outdoor adventures like park visits and hikes, which bring him the most joy. Once he bonds with his person, he is incredibly affectionate and loyal. The ideal home for Miso would be with someone committed to continuing his progress through follow-up training provided by our rescue. This will ensure his ongoing growth and success as an excellent companion. Miso is part of our foster-to-adopt VIP program!
